Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), earlier known as Deccan Chargers, continues to be in news for all the right reasons. An underdog in the initial IPL editions, SRH has made a remarkable turnaround lately, winning their maiden title in 2016 and qualifying for playoffs across all editions ever since.
Of late, the Sun Group-owned franchise is in news for securing 15 investors for the upcoming IPL edition, getting underway on April 09, 2021. Previously, the sponsor count was 13.
JK Lakshmi Cement preserves its status as SRH’s title sponsor. Kent RO makes an entry as the second principal sponsor alongside Ralco Tyres. Note that Ralco Tyres was the sole principal sponsor up till now. The other prominent names, such as Colgate, TCL, Dream 11, Jio, Jai Raj Steel, TYKA, IB Cricket, Kotak Bank, Nerolac, Fan Code, and Double Horse have been retained. The new entrant to the list is Spektacom, a sports-technology startup founded by Anil Kumble.
While announcing the sponsor list, K. Shanmugam, the CEO of SRH stated, “Last year has been extremely tough for all of us, business-wise and personally. However, with the incredible support of our invaluable sponsors and fans, we managed to beat the woes and come out strongly with a super successful season. We hope that our partnerships continue to grow from strength to strength and we come back even stronger this year.”
