Everything You Need To Know About Scotland Squad for T20 World Cup 2021

The ICC T20 World Cup is finally happening this year. Although the event faced quite a few hiccups regarding its venue selection, the event organizers finally agreed on the fact that the event will take place in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Among other participating national cricket teams from countries around the globe, Scotland will also be playing in the event. They recently announced their final squad that will represent Scotland in the international cricket event.

Kyle Coetzer will be leading the team, and he will be accompanied by Jonathan Trott – the former batsman from England, as a batting consultant. The squad also consists of Michael Leask, Josh Davey, Mark Watt, and George Munsey. These four players also represented Scotland in the T20 World Cup that took place way back in 2016.

The squad also comprises Dylan Budge, Oli Hairs, Chris Greaves, Hamza Tahir, Chris Sole, Brad Wheal, and Craig Wallace. All of these players will be representing Scotland for the first time at a major ICC cricketing event.

The wicket-keeping duties have been given to Matthew Cross, and the duties of the vice-captain will rest on the shoulders of Richard Berrington.

Other strong additions to the final Scotland T20 World Cup 2021 squad are Ally Evans, Calum Macleod, Mather Cross, and Safyaan Sharif. All of these players jointly have won more than 1000 caps for Scotland.

The coaching team of Scotland also has an addition and he is Craig Wright, the fast-bowling expert, and assistant coach. Chris Brown is the revered spin bowling coach!

How is the team spirit?

According to the reports gathered from several sports news outlets, this is quite an interesting time for the cricket team of Scotland. They are all excited about hitting the world stage of international cricket and proving their merit to the spectators of the T20 World Cup.

Sources state that the players and their coaches have worked very hard to prepare themselves for this challenging event. That is why everyone selected in the final squad for the upcoming cricket event, including the coaches, deserve their respective positions on the team.

Although Scotland has been able to play only two international matches since 2019, the upcoming cricket event will give the team quite the opportunity to prove their skills.

The team will also get the support of an eight-member strong management team where every member has been carefully selected in a bid to ensure that the team is provided with everything they need to show their best performance in the tournament.
