Top Run Scorers in T20 World Cup 2021

With the mega event on the horizon, the T20 World Cup 2021 is generating excitement amongst the fans. Besides, this year’s World Cup is special. It is the first ICC limited-overs event after two years. On October 17, the T20 World Cup 2021 will kick off, and the tournament final will be played on November 14.

It was initially scheduled to kick off in 2020 but the plan was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was supposed to be held in India. However, the COVID-19 situation made it too dangerous to have a big cricket tournament in a nation with a massive population. Therefore, four new venues were set up in the UAE and Oman, namely Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, to replace India.

T20 World Cup Most Sixes

Every year we have a player with the most sixes and the most runs. So, let’s look at the prominent players who can also achieve the title of Top Run Scorers in the T20 World Cup 2021.

KL Rahul

With the kind of form and confidence, KL Rahul has gathered from this year’s IPL, he is one of the most dangerous players in the whole world. He even scored the most number of sixes in the IPL and was the third-highest run-getter in the tournament, averaging 62.60.

Evin Lewis

The Trinidadian cricketer is a genuine six-hitter and scored at a strike rate of 162.36 in this year’s IPL. Although RR didn’t qualify for the Qualifiers, he was a top performer in the UAE for his team.

Jonny Bairstow

We all know what an exquisite striker of the ball this batsman is, and we saw how badly SRH missed him at the top of the order in the 2nd leg of the IPL. Even though he played just seven matches, he hit 15 sixes, enough to consider his dangerous form.

Babar Azam

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is also one of the greatest six hitters.  Babar’s rise to fame is no accident though. The 2nd ranked T20 batsman is undoubtedly a contender for the most runs and sixes in this year’s T20 World Cup. In the last T20 cup, he played 61 matches and scored 2204 runs. The best part is that the player hit 231 4s and 33 6s.
