The IPL schedule 2021 was postponed in May due to the second wave of covid 19.
Many players will still not be able to participate, including Shubman Gill. He is the Indian batsman, and one of the key KKR players reported with a severe calf injury that led him to the sideline for several weeks of rest. The KKR management is doubting his recovery on time and looking for the correct replacement call.
The three players who can be the best replacement for Gill are listed below. Check them all.
Kedar Devdhar is a domestic circuit cricketer for Baroda who specializes as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He made his IPL debut with Deccan Chargers in 2011. He didn’t receive much recognition, but his performance has improved over the years. He was left unsold in this IPL season and can be a better fit among the KKR team players.
Sheldon Jackson is a domestic cricketer from Gujarat with good performances in some recent tournaments. KKR first signed him in 2009, but his IPL debut happened in 2017. His exceptional domestic performance led KKR to sign him in the 2021 auction. Now, Jackson has the better chance in the playing XI of KKR.
Siddhesh Lad is a well-known cricketer from Mumbai with stunning performance records in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. He made his IPL debut in 2019 as the replacement for Rohit Sharma. He hit the first ball of his IPl career to a six but couldn’t hold to play big innings. This season, Lad remains unsold at the auction and is available as a better opening or middle-order batsman replacement for the team KKR.
These players can be the replacement for Gill in the second leg of IPL 2021 if he doesn’t recover on time.
