The Meeting Will Help To Decide The Final Call On T20 World Cup & Dates Of IPL 2021
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s top officials are set to meet in Mumbai to make their final decisions regarding the IPL 2021 dates and the T20 World cup. According to the information that has been released, the officials will put more emphasis on the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The International Cricket Council gave the board members a deadline of 28th June to make their decisions.
While in the meeting, the board officials will be making decisions on the final dates of the IPL 2021 second phase. These decisions will be made with the players’ availability in consideration. It’s worth noting that the president of the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly is already in Mumbai together with other officials. The first agenda of discussion will be the issue of ICC tax Exemption. The BCCI will be expected to issue the global body a reply before Tuesday.
IPL 2021 & T20 World Cup Meeting with BCCI will handle the following discussions;
The BCCI Board members also have concerns about the foreign players participating in the IPL 2021 phase 2. They have tried hard to approach the other boards to release the players, and they are yet to get any response. Cricket Sri Lanka is willing to let their players play in India; however, none of their players have the IPL contract. Unfortunately, the Bangladesh Cricket Board declared that they would not let their players play the IPL 2021.
New Zealand has not released any statement about its players, and Cricket Australia is yet to give its formal announcement concerning releasing its players for the IPL 2021. On the other hand, England and Wales Cricket have forbidden their players from joining the IPL 2021. This is on account of their different series against Bangladesh. The Cricket West Indies is yet to issue their response in the next 7 to 10 days.
In the BCCI meeting for IPL 2021 & T20, the board will discuss the teams’ concerns and look at the logistics surrounding the IPL 2021 Phase 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
Conclusively, before 28th June, all the IPL 2021 and T20 World Cup dates will be known. This will be very helpful for the teams as they prepare for the matches.
