The PlayOffs Will Take Place In West Indies This Summer

The Test series that Pakistan is to play in the West Indies series is part of 2021-2023 ICC for the World Test Championships. The Cricket West Indies made the confirmation of the fixtures for the tour in May 2021. Initially, the Twenty20 Internationals was scheduled to handle five games. However, following the rescheduling of ODI games, the matches were changed to four. The ODI matches were to happen in the West Indies, and it was set to play against Australia.

The West Indies are on a tight schedule as they will be hosting the likes of South Africa, Pakistan, and Australia. The matches, which combine 15 T20Is, four Test matches, and three ODI, will start with South Africa making a tour of the Islands for five Twenty20 Internationals and two Test matches. Due to the Covid-1p pandemic, the West Indies Series was supposed to take place in 2020.

From July 8th to July 20th, Pakistan will be playing three ODIs and many Twenty20 Internationals, which will be taking place in England. After the matches, they will fly directly to the West Indies, reaching Barbados on July 21st. On July 26th, Australia will play their last ODI for the tour of the West Indies at Kensington Oval. On the following day, West Indies will host Pakistan for their first Twenty20 Internationals Pak vs. WI series, which will take place on July 27th at the same venue.

T20Is Pakistan vs. West Indies match will be played back-to-back as the second match of Pakistan vs. West Indies series 2021 is scheduled to take place on July 28th. The remaining T20Is will take place on July 31st, August 1st, and August 3rd, respectively, and the venue will be Guyana. After enough practice matches in Guyana, the Test matches will be held in Jamaica, where the matches will take place between 12th and 24th August.

The West Indies tours are always prized and valued by the Pakistan squads. Their excellent facilities and supporting crews give a great ambiance and encouragement, and motivation to the players, making them give out their best performances. On the other hand, the Cricket West Indies was consulted about the ICC Men’s Twenty20 Internationals World Cup. They agreed to replace one Test match with two more T20Is.

The change was made to help provide T20 content for both of the teams as preparations for the Global ICC build-up event. Pakistan toured the West Indies last in 2017, and the last day of that tour is remembered for the retirements of the former captains Younis Khan and Misbath-ul-Haq.

Cricket West Indies decided to name 18-man for a provisional team ahead of the Twenty20 Internationals on May 18th, 2021. Kieron Pollard was the one selected as the captain of that squad. Hider Ali had been withdrawn from the T20I Pakistan team on June 24th, 2021. This was done after the bio-secure bubble was breached during the Pakistan Premier League 2021.
