With 5 titles and a healthy 59.11 win percentage, Mumbai Indians is indisputably the best team ever to play in IPL. They enter the 2021 edition as the defending champions and a firm favourite. If the team manages to win the 2021 title, it will be a hat-trick. MI is credited with being the first franchise to exceed $100 million in brand value. It’s currently valued at US$115 million.
The MSD led team has 03 IPL titles and the highest win percentage (59.83). CSK has made it to the playoffs and finals on record 10 and 8 occasions respectively. The only time they failed to reach the playoffs was in 2020. With a brand value of $104 million, it’s the second most valuable franchise, after MI. Despite the ageing players, CSK cannot be ruled out of the 2021 title race.
KKR has lifted the trophy twice, in 2012 and 2014, and also holds the record for 14 consecutive wins in IPL history. The Shahrukh Khan owned franchise is valued at US$88 million, just behind MI and CSK. With a well oiled and well-balanced unit, they look good to win another title.
