Delhi Capitals, a jointly-owned franchise team of the GMR and the JSW group, played the first IPL final in 2020. With the new season of the Indian Premier League hitting the year 2021, Delhi Capitals’ players are all set to face their first contending team, the Chennai Super Kings, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on the 10th of April 2021.
All the players have undergone a mandatory week-long quarantine, starting from their arrival date. While the early arrivers could easily begin with their training sessions from the 1st of April itself, the rest of the squad would resume practice sessions as soon as their quarantine period ends.
Since the regular skipper of Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer, has had a shoulder injury in the recently wrapped up India-England ODI series, the team would be headed by Rishab Pant for the 14th Edition of the Indian Premier League 2021.
The team coach, Ricky Ponting, is all positive and confident about his entire squad and believes that leading the team would prove to be an added feather in the cap for Rishabh Pant, whose performance has been grabbing a lot of attention and appreciation from cricket lovers and the fraternity at large.
Delhi Capitals has a fair chance of exhibiting some extravagant performances on the field in this year’s 14th edition of the IPL. Even though it lost the finals to Mumbai Indians in last season’s IPL tournament, this year, the entire squad is back again with a bang in Mumbai at their team’s hotel. They are all set to display some splendid performances and win the hearts of millions of their fans worldwide.
