In the battle of the two Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore overcame Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. RCB is just two points off the top of the IPL 2021 table and increased the gap between them and the two following teams KKR and MI. The IPL 2021 Match Prediction had put RCB in the favorites to win the match and take one step further towards securing their place in the playoffs.
The RR vs RCB match kicked off with the latter winning the toss, and deciding to bowl first. RR tried to challenge them by scoring 149 in 20 overs, losing all but one wicket. Evin Lewis scored a magnificent 58 off 37 balls, keeping a strike rate of 156.76. His innings was adorned with five fours and three sixes. But after the fall of his wicket, the RR batting line-up collapsed. RCB accepted the challenge and put up a seamless finish as they chased down their respectable target with 17 balls to spare. Even though their two openers, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal lost their wickets when they were at 25 and 22 runs respectively, they set up the chase for what was to be the ‘Big Show’.
Glenn Maxwell scored his second consecutive 50 in the second leg of IPL 2021.
He took only 30 balls to score a 50. Along with Srikar Bharat, he made short work of the chase and did not leave any opportunity for the Rajasthan franchise to make a comeback. The Australian batted with elegance and hit six fours and a six. Srikar Bharat’s contribution was equally vital as he scored 44 of 35 balls. Unfortunately, his innings came to an end as Anuj Rawat caught him off Mustafizur’s delivery. However, the star of the batting show proved to be Maxwell. His back and forth banter with Chris Morris was every cricket fan’s dream come true.
Yuzi’s Bag Of Tricks
Yuzvendra Chahal shows he should have been a part of the T20 World Cup squad with another man of the match performance. He took two wickets, one of Lomror and the other of Livingstone, by giving away only 18 runs in his four overs. Harshal Patel also successfully took three wickets, which included a hat-trick. But, he was not as economical as Chahal. At the end of the match, the winning captain sounded confident enough as the team had bounced back to a winning streak at the most crucial point of the tournament.
