KKR vs RR Match Preview
Both the teams have a few games left in the race for the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals has faced challenges both in terms of bowling and batting. Moreover, the top-order of the team has proved to be inefficient time and again. The bowling department lacks in terms of spearhead to create a dent in the opposition batting line-up. In the previous game, Rajasthan Royals succumbed to the defensive bowling of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Jos Buttler scored merely eight runs, whereas Manan Vohra moved back to the pavilion after scoring seven runs. Additionally, the captain, Sanju Samson, scored 21 runs, whereas David Miller didn’t make any impact. Shivam Dube scored 46 runs out of 32 deliveries, Rahul Tewatia collected 40 runs off 23 deliveries, and Riyab Parag scored 25 runs. With their efforts, the team managed to reach a decent score of 177 runs.
When defending their total, the RR’s bowlers did not manage to get even one wicket, leading the team to a huge loss by ten wickets.
Coming to the Kolkata Knight Riders, it also has its share of issues with the middle order, the overall bowling section needs major improvement, and skipper Eoin Morgan also needs to up his game. KKR stands at the fourth position in the points table currently. KKR has done better than RR but will have to play much better to reach the playoff stage.
As for the winners, Kolkata Knight Riders are more likely to win the match. This is because they are playing more consistently than the Rajasthan Royals. Their fast bowling has been strengthened by the addition of Tim Southee. Even if Andre Russell does not recover from his injury, Shakib can fill in the void left by him. The inclusion of Venkatesh Iyer has done wonders for KKR, who are finally playing as a cohesive unit. The only worry is that their captain is hopelessly out of form. If RR has to beat this side, they have to put in their best performance, which they are quite capable of.
