Sanju Samson was born in a Christian family of three, his brother is Saly Samson, and his sister’s name is under review. He married his college sweetheart on 22nd December 2018. They don’t have any kids yet. Samson enjoys eating batter chicken and fish curry, and he likes the colors grey and black. His favorite actor and actress are Salma Khan and Kareena Kapoor, respectively.
Sanju Samson has made his debut in Domestic, IPL, and International career as follows;
Sanju Samson began playing for the Kerala Ranji when he was only 15 years old. He made his first-class debut when he was 17 years old against Vidarbha. During the 2017-2018 seasons, Sanju was the leading run-scorer, where he scored 627 runs in 7 games.
During the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy, he scored 211 runs as he chased a target of 323 set for him by Assam. He managed to register his first double hundred hitting 23 fours and five sixes, giving Kerala 39 runs. In just 6 matches, Sanju scored 530 runs and had an average of 58.88, making him the highest run-scorer for his team Kerala.
After an excellent performance in his Domestic matches, Sanju Samson was signed to be part of the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2012 IPL season. However, he did not get to play in any of the matches. Later on, he was taken by the Rajasthan Royals in the following year. On 13th April 2011, Samson made his debut for Rajasthan Royals. He had to replace their wicket-keeper Dishant Yagnik, who was still recovering from an injury.
In a couple of following IPL seasons, Sanju was always picked by the Rajasthan Royals. He got to play his second game on 29th April 2013 against RCB. He scored 63 runs, and he was awarded the man-of-the-match award for being an impressive batsman.
Samson was chosen in August 2014 to join a 17-man squad scheduled to play 5 ODIs and T20 against England. Unfortunately, he did not make it to the final of any of the matches. Later on, he was called to join a T20 team against West Indies, which was later canceled. On 19th July 2015, he made his first international debut playing against Zimbabwe.
Sanju was fortunate to join India’s T20I squad in October 2019 for their series against Bangladesh. However, he was benched till the end of the series. There was light for Samson as he was signed to play the T20i series against West Indies. He also got to play the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka.
Samson joined India’s T20I in their series against Australia in October 2020. Later on, in November 2020, he was also added to India’s ODI against Australia. Sanju has been progressing pretty well, and in June 2021, he joined India’s ODI and T20I teams and played against Sri Lanka.
