IPL 2021: Match 24, MI vs RR – Who Won?

IPL 2021 – Match 24, MI vs. RR, was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Rohit called the toss correctly and opted to field first on a batting-friendly pitch. RR didn’t utilize their opportunity fully as the pitch was a belter and it looked like a 190-200 will be a defendable total. They fell short by 30 runs and ended up making a par score of 171/4. MI lost Rohit soon, but Quinton de Kock batted through the innings and got MI home with cameos from other batters. RR never looked like they would come back in the match and make it difficult for MI. Eventually, MI won by 7 wickets and showed why they are 5-time IPL champions.

RR Innings

RR started brilliantly, making 60 odd runs in 7 overs. Jos Buttler was outfoxed by Rahul Chahar’s delivery and got stumped after making a quickfire 41 runs from 32 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal also played a decent knock before getting caught and bowled to Rahul Chahar. Later, Samson and Dubey built a partnership of 50 plus, taking the score up to 171/4 in 20 overs. However, the score was substantial but not a winning total by any stretch of the imagination.
