Russell is a Jamaican professional cricket player. For the past year, he has not taken part in any international cricket. But that is set to change, as windies have selected the T20 squad, and he got a slot. Here is all information about Russell getting back to participating in International matches.

Andre Russell is back in the T20 squad and set to compete in an international cricket event for the first time in over a year. West Indies are the current T20 World cup holders after beating England in the 2016 year final. The win marked their second T20 win. They are going to play the three-five match home series this summer as they prepare to defend the title. In 2020 Russell impressed in the suspended IPL with the bat with his death bowling. Others who made it to the team are Chris Gayle, despite his age, and Shimron Hetmyer.

The coach Phil Simmons stated that they had put together a dependable squad. In addition, he said they included world-class game-winners and inspiring young capable players. He confirmed that his team is ready to blow up to the world and perform splendidly.

The Caribbean nation will play South Africa from June 26th, 2021. However, the series versus Australia will start on July 9th in St Lucia. The game Pakistan vs. West Indies 2021 will be played in Barbados on 27 and 28 July. The other three Pakistan vs. West Indies Test matches will be played in Guyana.
