Indian striker Rohit Sharma won the Man of the Match award for the 4th test of the India vs England Test Series held at the Oval. Sharma’s brilliant century helped his team with a resounding 157 run win. The win in the fourth test match puts the visiting side in the lead to win the series. But, it is the final game that will decide the winner of the series..
As an opening batsmen, Sharma is known for his fantastic knocks. On winning the Man of the Match award, this is what he had to say, “Very happy. Especially, when you are vising any of these countries and you know you are 2-1 up, you will take that any day.”
The master blaster, however, noted that Shardul Thakur for his overall performance should have also been named as the Man of the Match. Shardul scored a half a century each in both the innings along with taking the crucial wicket of the English Captain Joe Root.
In Sharma’s words, “I thought Shardul’s was a match winning effort. To be honest, he deserved the Man of the Match for the performance he put. A crucial breakthrough for the team when England were 100 without loss, getting that crucial breakthrough was very important and then getting the wicket of Joe Root as well, he came in and got the wicket.”
We are happy to see both the players perform brilliantly and supporting each other. As the fourth match at Oval came to an end, the sponsors and players are both thankful that the pandemic has not affected the games. A historic win after 50-years for the Indian team has made the fans grateful to watch the match live.
