Career Information

With Sinha’s advice, Rishabh had the chance to develop a solid foundation. After some time, Rishabh participated in Rajasthan at the district level at the Under-16 and under 14. However, during his time here, he faced discrimination, and he had to return to Delhi, where he continued with his studies. 

ODI Debut:

Pant was named in the India ODI squad for the series against West Indies. He made his ODI debut in this series on October 21, 2018, at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. 

His last ODI match was between India and England at Pune on March 28, 2021. India won by 7 runs, and Rishabh scored 78 runs with a strike rate of 125.80. 

Test Debut:

Pant was named for the India squad in the 2018 Test series. He made his debut against England on August 18, 2018, at Nottingham. He also made his first century in the last match of this series. 

He played the last match in the Test series on September 02, 2021, against England at the Oval. India won by 157 runs, and Rishabh scored 9 runs at a strike rate of 27.27. 

T20I Debut:

Pant made his T20I debut on February 01, 2017, against England at Bengaluru. His last T20I match was March 20, 2021, against England. India won by 36 runs. 

IPL Debut:

Delhi Daredevils bought Pant for Rs 1.9 crore on February 6, 2016. On April 27, 2016, Pant made his IPL debut against Gujarat Lions at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Pant registered 69 runs from 40 balls to help Delhi win by 8 wickets over Gujarat Lions.

  • Pant is the first batsman for India to get off the mark in Test cricket with a six.
  • On September 11, 2018, Pant became the second-youngest wicket keeper and the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century in England.
  • In January 2019, Pant became the first wicketkeeper for India to register a century in a Test match in Australia.
