In readiness for the upcoming T20 World Cup, teams that take part in this tournament are using different strategies. Groups such as Pakistan are playing against top teams like England and the West Indies as a preparation method. Misbah-ul-Haq said that the West Indies vs. Pakistan T20 series and England will help his team during rehearsal.
Pakistan will travel to England and the West Indies to play three and five T20I in July and August, respectively. Misbah considers the Pakistan T20 match 2021 an incredible open door for him as the coach and his squad in preparation for the T20I World Cup 2021. This time Pakistan & India both teams are in the same group.
During a press conference, Misbah said that both England and West Indies are top teams. He believes that if they play against good teams, their preparation will be better as they will have the power to judge where they stand. This way, they will have a chance to see their difficulties and potential. He explains that they have middle-order issues, but they still have time to overcome them.
The coach was additionally satisfied to see the improvement in Pakistan’s fielding. However, he admitted that more work should be done to work on the guidelines at the lesser level in the country.
According to him, fielding needs more practice such that the more you practice, the better you will become at it. For instance, if you take a look at his team, their fielding has become better. There has been great improvement in their fielding since the series with New Zealand.
He adds that Mohammad Amir, the fast pitcher, will be welcomed back if he decides to come out of retirement. He had been released from the team because of his injuries, and then he announced his retirement.
The Pakistan team has already selected their squad for England and the West Indies. However, Misbah noted that the selection panel would have considered fit players in the continuing PSL in a perfect world. Yet, because of the COVID 19 circumstance and different limitations, they needed to pick the side earlier.
