Pakistan Recalls Two Players For Tests In West Indies

Naseem Shah and Mohammed Abbas To Join Their Teammates

Pakistan recalled Naseem Shah and Mohammad Abbas to join the Test series that will take place in West Indies. The duo was left after the match in New Zealand hit 2-0 this year, and they missed the following home series, which was played against South Africa Zimbabwe. The leg-spinner Yasir Shah was also picked, but he is almost recovering from a knee sprain.

The 35-year-old Shah was called to go clear his fitness test; however, he was expected to regain his fitness by the time of the West Indies tour. Abbas was not included in the two test series that were held against South Africa and Zimbabwe. However, he managed to make his way back to the side after impressively performing in the English County Championship.

After Pakistan recalled Naseem and Abbas for the test, Abbas was said to have regained his normal form while Naseem managed to reclaim his required fitness expectations, the chief selector said in his press release. The West Indies tour is crucial for Pakistan as they will be playing Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League ODIs vs. England and playing the T20Is vs. England and Pakistan vs. West Indies 2021 as well.

Pakistan vs. West Indies test matches will be held in Jamaica, and it will be counting towards the ICC World Test Championship. Pakistan has a schedule to play three T20s for the Pakistan vs. West Indies test. In addition, they will also play ODIs vs. England in the following month before finally flying to the Caribbean for the five T20 and the remaining Test matches. Pakistan has prepared three squads for the tour, the ODI squad, the T20 squad, and the Test squad. Shah is expected to join the test squad after making a full recovery.
