The 23rd edition of the Moselle Open, which is also a part of the ATP World Tour 250 series, was held in Metz this year. The tournament began on the 20th and concluded on the 26th of September 2021. The tennis tournament was played indoors on hard surfaces in the city of Metz at Arènes de Metz, France.
The indoor hard court tournament was founded in 2003. The 18-year-old tournament has 3 other French companions in the ATP 250 series namely- Open 13, Open Sud de France, and the Lyon Open. The Moselle Open was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis. Players have been preparing themselves for this tournament for a long time. Tennis masters got an opportunity to shine and so they did, as the tournament successfully discovered new tennis gems.
In 2019 Jo Wilfried Tsonga, a French player, had won the tournament. After a year of distress in 2021, Hubert Hurkacz from Poland won the tournament and became the star of the event. Hubert has been awarded the rank of 11th best tennis player (singles) by the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals). He is also the first polish player ever to win a Masters 1000 title.
Hubert Hurkacz confronted Pablo Carreño Busta from Spain in the finals. Hubert served 9 Aces while Pablo could only serve 4. Hubert won a total of 67 points and Pablo won 52 points. The Moselle Open began on the 20th and the finals were held on the 26th of September, 2021. Sunday was a big day for Poland as the young players Jan Zielinski and Hubert Hurkacz defeated the Frenchmen Hugo Nys and Arthur Rinderknecht in the Men’s Doubles. These two Polish tennis players coordinated to perfection and won the match.

The tournament held in Metz, France brought new talent to the fore. To get through the semifinals, Hubert defeated none other than Andy Murray. Many entries were withdrawn from the tournament before the commencing of the event. A total of 20 participants were there in the Men’s singles and 7 pairs in the Men’s doubles.
