Though the deadlines have passed, the IPL owners haven’t been able to finalize the squads owing to the uncertainties of getting the nod from international players. Many international players have opted out of the previous teams. Things are the same with the CPL also, with many players pulling out owing to personal circumstances.
The costliest player of Indian Premier League 2021, Chris Morris, has cited personal reasons for opting out of the upcoming CPL 2021. Chris Morris was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping 16.25 crores making him the costliest IPL player of 2021. The bowling all-rounder Chris Morris sends the speed gun beyond 140kph and is a great batsman too. Sources state that he will be replaced by New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips for the Barbados Royals.
Similarly, the Delhi Capitals pacer who Anrich Nortje was roped in by St Kitts & Nevis for the CPL 2021 has opted out, citing national commitments. The South African fast bowler has also opted out of the tournament as the events clash with the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa. Anrich Nortje was roped into the team with fellow South African Rassie van der Dussen.
Sources say that Netherlands’ Paul van Meekeren will be substituting for him in the upcoming league. However, Anrich Nortje did not play any game for Delhi Capitals in phase 1 of the IPL 2021. He will be featuring in phase 2, which will be taking place in UAE this month
