The former pacer for the Delhi Capitals, Tushar Deshpande, was a part of the 2022 Mega Auction for this cash-rich league. But things went downhill for him after the franchise decided not to retain him for the 2021 IPL season.
The former Delhi Capitals player was saddened to learn that he was released by the franchise when he was looking forward to playing for the IPL 2021 season. He has played brilliantly for the franchise 5 times where he picked up 3 wickets.
During his interview at Behind the Stumps with Anuj, Tushar shared his thoughts on how he felt when he played for the Delhi Capitals. He poured out his feelings at the interview where he said:
“I will not lie, but I was very much saddened to learn that the team decided to turn their backs on me. I believe that I didn’t perform THAT poorly where I had to be released. Yes, there is a time where you do lose a match, but it surely doesn’t make you a bad bowler. Even though I feel pretty hurt, I have managed to pick myself up well. I will work hard to provide excellent performance as a bowler”.
Despite being left out by his former team, Tushar didn’t give up his hope of playing in the IPL. He aims to play for the Mumbai Indians, which is currently one of the most successful franchises within the league. Even though he has plenty of experience playing in the league, Deshpande believes that it will help as a bowler to debut within the Indian Premier League.
Tushar Deshpande was heartbroken after he learned that Delhi Capitals released him. But he didn’t give up. As a younger player, he certainly looks forward to playing again in the Indian Premier League and securing his place as one of the best bowlers within the tournament.
