Trinbago Knight Riders Team Retention for Ninth Season – CPL 2021

The Trinbago Knight Riders are a franchise team based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, with their home ground in Queen’s Park Oval. It was one of the teams created for the inaugural season of CPL in 2013.

TKR has finally declared the TKR 2021 Players List that is being retained before the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). CPL hosted in St. Kitts & Nevis on August 28, will see TKR play with 13 retained members from 2020 and a few new additions. The Knight Riders completed the season in 2020 with a perfect 12 wins to claim the CPL title in fourth place. The stunning performance in 2020 in Trinidad and Tobago led to the retention of the majority of the team players. With Sunil Narine as the vice-captain and Kieron Pollard as the Captain, the Riders will be heading into the ninth season of CPL 2021.

The Zimbabwean international player Sikandar Raza and the American fast bowler Ali Khan both played fabulously in 2020 and will continue to play in 2021. Although Sunil Narine suffered an injury in the 2020 season, TKR has retained him and expects his best performance in the ninth season.

After Dwayne Bravo signed up with St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Denesh Ramdin has been reinstated into the franchise. Two vital players in 2020, Stalwarts Darren Bravo and Lendl Simmons, are also retained.

The Trinbago Knight Riders hope to keep up their excellent form from the last season into CPL 2021. The following players have not been retained: Aussie leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed, Kiwi wicketkeeper Tim Siefert, Indian leg-spinner Pravin Tambe and Trinidad and Tobago wicketkeeper/batsman Amir Jangoo.

The franchise has four more vacancies in their squad and will be recruiting new players soon. The Knight riders hope to dominate the upcoming season with the strong squadron of young Trinidadian players rounding out the team.
