Jamaica Tallawahs won against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 21st CPL Match

The 21st Match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) of 2021, which is the ninth season of this premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean, was St Kitts & Nevis Patriots v Jamaica Tallawahs. The match took place on 08th September 2021 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.

As you must have understood from the title, Jamaica Tallawahs won the match. They landed a victory by 22 runs. Before the match, experts had a hard time predicting the outcome, as both the teams had played well in the tournament so far. The match was an interesting event to watch as every player put their best foot forward.

In this St Kitts & Nevis Patriots v Jamaica Tallawahs match, many happy and disappointing moments were there. The ‘ man of the match’ title was awarded to Andre Russel. The score made by the winning team was 169 after playing 20 overs. They lost 8 wickets in their game.

Despite trying hard, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots (SNP) team could not achieve the target of 170 runs given by Jamaica Tallawahs. They played for all 20 overs but scored a total of 147 runs. They, too, lost 8 wickets in their game. The batting order failed from the beginning as wickets kept falling, and runs were not earned as expected.

In the CPL 2021 schedule, this defeat marked the third defeat of St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in a row. They started with flying colours in the tournament. They won five matches straight. But now, the team seems to be in a not-so-good form. Due to their previous wins in CPL 2021, the SNP team has managed to stay at the second position in the rankings. But occupying the third position in the rankings, Jamaica Tallawahs is just one position below the SNP team, and hopefully catching up soon.
