South Africa Beat Sri Lanka By 28 Runs In The 1st T20I

South Africa vs. Sri Lanka 1st T20I series kicked off with a lot of heat on both sides as they all wanted to win the championship. South Africa was determined to avenge their defeat in the ODI series and make their record look impressive. South Africa had set a chase at 164 runs which the opponent Sri Lanka tried to keep up with but could not as they kept losing wickets. Dinesh Chandimal attempted to put the match on the track by striking fifty. However, the other players failed to give him support.

Chandimal scored 64 runs off 54 balls, five fours, and a few couples of sixes which helped him a great deal. As a result of his doing, South Africa managed to win the match 1-0. Earlier in the game, South Africa had made 163 runs on a scorecard. Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock made the best start; their team decided to make the first bat.

However, the duo was soon dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga after he gave the most promising start. Later on, David Miller and Aiden Markram took charge as South Africa put on a decent total. The South African skipper and captain Keshav Maharaj did a brilliant job organizing his team and ensuring that each player contributed to the win. He is optimistic that he will still get a chance to feature in the T20I World Cup squad.

As per the 2021 schedule, the next match for both teams is on 12th September at 7:30 pm. This time, Sri Lanka will have to win the game to secure its place in the three-match series. South Africa tour of Sri Lanka 2021 has proven to be just what the team needed. Their bowlers took a wicket on the first ball, a deliberate technique for the team to emerge winners.
