Ruby Trichy Warriors defeat Chepauk Super Gillies ahead of Qualifier 1

In the Ruby Trichy Warriors vs Chepauk Super Gillies match, the former defeated the defending champions by seven wickets. They topped the points’ table at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on 9th August. Here are a few highlights from one of the most crucial TNPL 2021 Matches.

Sai Kishore remains the leading wicket-taker

Openers Rajagopal and Santosh Shiv played brilliantly in the Ruby Trichy Warriors vs Chepauk Super Gillies match to put 39 runs on the board with 32 balls. After Shiv was taken out, Rajagopal had a good 75-run alliance with Adithya Ganesh.

Ravisrinivasan, the brilliant left-arm spinner, upheld his position as the leading wicket-taker of the TNPL 2021 Matches with a spell of 4-0-13-1.

Young right-handed batsman, Sunderaraman Radhakrishnan had put up a good fight to keep Chepauk still in the running. His innings of 55 runs off 50 balls had kept the Trichy dominance in check. Finally, they could only put up 132 on the board.

Chepauk faced difficulty in scoring from the start

It simply wasn’t Chepauk’s day as only three of its batsmen could reach double digits in the Ruby Trichy Warriors vs Chepauk Super Gillies match. The fact that Radhakrishnan scored a fifty against Trichy dominance and that too, in his second TNPL match, is commendable.

The bowlers of Trichy have already shown their worth in TNPL 2021 Matches. With their pacer P Saravana Kumar leading the bowling attack, Trichy was relentless. Kumar’s 3-24 turned the tide in Trichy’s favor. Skipper Rahil Shah (1-23), spinner M Mathivanan (1-24), and pacer Anthony Dhas (2-23) did not leave much opportunity for Chepauk to score.

This exciting TNPL match was like a rehearsal for the Qualifier 1 slated to be held on Tuesday, where both the teams will face each other again. May the best team win! Get all the TNPL 2021 news and sports news from all around the world only on Pure Win News.
