Prasidh Krishna first showed his skill when he picked up a fifer at his first-class debut. This tall medium-pace bowler hailing from Karnataka is a talent to watch out for. Krishna first shot to glory in 2015 when Bangladesh A was touring India. The touring team was up against Karnataka, and this is where Prasidh took the opportunity to shine. He didn’t waste any time when he took a wicket off his first ball and dismissed Rony Talukdar. The then 19-year-old reduced Bangladesh A to 41/ 5 and helped his team win the match by four wickets.

His Background

Krishna always knew that he wanted to play sports. He showed interest in the game early on as a schoolboy when he joined the school team. According to Krishna, he was naturally sporty as it all seemed natural to him. This is because his mother was a former professional volleyball player. Therefore, once Krishna took up cricket, he ran with it.

His Career

In 2018, Krishna was named one of the ten fastest bowlers that were part of the national team. To reward his efforts, he was named in India A for the 2018 Quadrangular Series. Prasidh was often an injury replacement for many players, and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. In 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him as a replacement after Kamlesh Nagarkoti was injured. The lanky pacer made optimal use of the opportunity and made sure that his performance was noteworthy. He made his debut when Shivam Mavi got injured, and Krishna was chosen as a replacement.

The 25-year-old has had a good run picking up 14 wickets in the 18 matches he has played so far. Even though his numbers are not something to brag about, the young player has shown tremendous improvement.

His hard work has not gone unnoticed because Virat Kohli, the Indian Captain, said Krishna was a surprise package for the ICC World Cup. This is great news for the Karnataka-born player because he can impress the captain and make it to the Indian team.

  2. On February 29- March 3, 2020, He played his last FC match for his team Bengal against Karnataka, winning by 174 runs.
  3. Krishna played his last T20 match on November 9, 2021, where Karnataka played against Nergal at Guwahati. This match resulted in Krishna’s team, Bengal, winning by seven wickets with 12 balls remaining.
