In a clip shared, MS Dhoni can be observed discovering a refurbished yellow jersey through a camouflage blueprint imprinted over the shoulders. Moreover, Dhoni advised the CSK fans to begin the whistles.
The new jersey seems to change the fortune for Chennai Super Kings, as the team looked good in the earlier phase after their average performance in the last IPL. After playing a total of seven matches in India, the team is at the second spot on the IPL points table. Since the tournament has now shifted to the UAE, it will be interesting to see how the team performs in different conditions outside India.
Chennai franchise was scheduled to play five of their total matches in Mumbai during IPL 2021, which is now shifted to the UAE. After transferring their continuing training camp to Mumbai from Chennai, CSK now is training in the UAE for the remaining matches of the league. Essentially, now there will be no home advantage to any IPL team during the remaining season. Also, CSK players serving their national teams respectively have joined their squad in the UAE.
MS Dhoni would have another stint at the cricket field after insistently announcing his retirement from international cricket ahead of the last IPL 2020 match of CSK. Furthermore, CSK would be reinforced by the comeback of Suresh Raina. Raina was not part of the CSK squad in the last season owing to some personal issues.
Due to the increasing cases of coronavirus cases in India, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift the second leg of the tournament to the UAE. All the Chennai Super Kings players, together with all the other teams, have reached the UAE and are all set to flex their muscles after serving the mandatory quarantine period in the bubble.
Even though MS Dhoni has failed to show his magic with the bat in the earlier part of the IPL 2021, his reflexes behind the wicket are still the same. However, he is leading the team from the forefront and managed to win five out of seven matches played in the earlier part of the tournament in India. And, his cool and composed nature and vast experience as a captain are sure to benefit Chennai Super Kings in the remaining part of the tournament.
Since the former Indian captain will be joining the Indian team in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup as a mentor, there are speculations about the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the second leg of the tournament. However, there is no official statement about it yet. With some quality all-rounders, including Moeen Ali, K Gowtham and Ravindra Jadeja, in the team, CSK is looking good to make the most of the spin-friendly pitches in the UAE.
