Indian cricketing fans are overjoyed – India has taken a lead in the test series against England. The crowning glory is that it ended its draught of test wins at The Oval. Team India last won a test match at this famed ground in 1971. After half-a-century, Indian fans can now enjoy now only a match win, but also a series win.
As the India tour of England 2021 was set to begin, the team and series was surrounded by controversies and fear of players falling to the Covid-virus. Amidst the fears and commotion, the first test ended in a draw. At the second test, Virat Kohli’s team showed its mettle with a 151-run win. It spurred the home team to revenge the loss. England, lead by Captain Joe Root, gave a befitting reply to the visitors to win the second test series, crushing the Indian batsmen.
The fourth test of the India vs England Test Series at the Oval created suspense for cricketing fans. Both teams gave some fine performances, but it was India who emerged victorious.
