There have been many uncertainties due to the pandemic and cancellation of many sports events. And it was no different for golf. The events that were held have resumed again this month.
The National Sports Federation and the governing body of golf sports, The Indian Golf Union (IGU), recently announced the 2021 tournament schedule. The IGU released the confirmed calendar for the men’s golf tournament in 2021 with ten events. So far, 3 out of 10 events have been completed, and the rest of the matches are to take place again from the 20th of September after being suspended. The ministry suspended the games after a ban on the IGU by the sports ministry for a specific duration owing to a discrepancy in elections.

The upcoming events are the IGU Andhra Pradesh Amateur Golf Championship scheduled from Monday, the 27th of September, 2021, to Friday, the 01st of October, 2021, at 12. The event will be conducted in East Point Golf Club Vizag at 12 noon.
The IGU Northern India Amateur Golf Championship registration is open at an event fee of INR 2500.00. The event will be on Monday, the 18th of October, 2021 – Friday, the 22nd of October, 2021, at 12.00 am.

Though the dates are confirmed, it could change due to the coronavirus crisis. It is to be noted that IGU events are not open category events.
