The 15th match in the CPL 2021 schedule was fiery, with St Lucia Kings grabbing the victory and pushing themselves to the second spot on the points table. In the match, the Kings crushed the home team by 100 runs and lost just two wickets the whole game. Despite their efforts, the Patriots couldn’t go past 124 runs while the target set for the match was 224 runs.
The T20 match was a near-perfect match, with Faf du Plessis scoring the third-highest score in the history of CPL. The fabulous skipper Plessis scored 120 runs off 60 balls, and Roston Chase scored 64 runs in 31 balls. Evin Lewis from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots scored73 runs in 42 balls, but that was far from enough for the home team to win.
After the toss, the Kings started on the pitch with the willow scoring a massive 224 with the allotted 20 runs. This was the effort of the fabulous South African Star, who hit his first hundred in CPL history and ended the match unbeaten. Plessis scored his fifty runs off just 25 balls and continued the same form throughout the game, reaching his maiden hundred in CPL 2021. In the St Lucia Kings v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots match, Roston Chase supported Plessis scoring a half-century in 25 balls. That was his second half-century this season. Plessis scored 13 fours and five sixes in the match.
The Patriots couldn’t hold on for long and were completely done by 16.5 overs. Although Evin Lewis was in good form and scored 73 runs, he didn’t have much support.
