Michael Di Venuto & Jeff Vaughan are ready to take on the role
During the outbreak of Covid-19, Australia had to demote a few staff because its financial status was affected by the pandemic. However, after several talks, the teams’ officials appointed Michael Di Venuto and Jeff Vaughan as assistant coaches. The two will work together with Justin Langer, the current head coach. However, they will join him later this year and work towards the betterment of the men’s national team.
This has happened following an upcoming Test match and White Ball Series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Having battling coach qualities, the two will replace Graeme Hick. Michael Venuto has been in this career for 16 years and has played several matches like T20 and ODI. For instance, he managed to play 54 T20 games.
On the other hand, Jeff Vaughan has displayed outstanding records throughout his career. He represented South Australia in 28 First Class. In a statement, Vaughan said that joining the Australian men’s team as Assistant Coach is the highlight of his career to date, and he is looking forward to contributing to the squad’s success.
Micheal went on to add that since the last time he was with the team, he has gained a lot of experience of being the Head Coach of Surrey CCC before the pandemic. He also met the Adelaide Strikers, Hobart Hurricanes, and Tasmania and spent time with them.
The head coach also appreciated and welcomed the two warmly. He also believes that the team will benefit from their experience and leadership.
This Australian squadron is focusing on getting better as a whole and making their country proud. Justin Langer went on to say how he and the entire team were thrilled to work with Michael and Jeff.
“They are outstanding coaches and leaders in their respective fields. They will add so much expertise and value to this group. We are very excited to have them both on board.” Justin Further added as he spoke to Cricbuzz.
