India has a busy season as they prepare for their upcoming Sri Lankan tour. Team India has only played one T20I match against England, where they recorded a victory in the five-match leg by winning three games. On the other hand, the home team has only won one T20I match against West Indies. Unfortunately, the last three-match battle they played against England ended in a 3-0 loss at the Southampton Hampshire Bowl.
The Sri Lanka vs. India 2021 tour will be one to watch as Team India has travelled with many young players who are less experienced in comparison to the A team in England. This is because most regular players are currently in England for the upcoming five-match Test series, which starts in the first week of August. The BCCI has picked Shikhar Dhawan to lead the team, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar will deputize him. In addition, legendary Rahul Dravid will join the team as the coach.
The white-ball fixtures begin in July and have been revised to three ODIs (starting Tuesday, July 13) and as many T20Is (beginning Wednesday, July 21). It had earlier been reported that the visitors were set to play three ODIs and five T20Is, but according to the SLC’s proposed itinerary to the BCCI, the series has been rearranged and reworked. This is in line with reports accessed by ESPN Cricinfo. All the games will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
