Football has its roots traced to England in the 19th century. After COVID 19, things slowed down everywhere, including the sporting world. Nevertheless, the action is back now for the biggest football championships worldwide. The European football leagues and cups for the year 2021/22 have been announced. Here is the 2021-2022 football calendar, and all the major finals for this season.
All the European football leagues will kick start in August 2021, and end in May 2022. They include the EPL, UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Europa League.
The Premier League
There will be 380 matches to be played in the 2021/22 English Premier League. The matches kick off at 15:00 for Saturdays and holidays unless there is a change in the schedule and time. Also, note that the fixtures are bound to change for the participating clubs in the UEFA Championships.
The postponed matches will take place the preceding midweek. The English Premier League will start on Saturday, 14th August 2021. The 2021/22 season will close on 22nd May 2022. Therefore, all the ten last matches will take place concurrently.
The UEFA Champions League
Initially, UEFA was known as Europe’s premier club football tournament. Then later, it was named European Champion Clubs’ Cup before changing to its current name. The championship will start on 22nd June, and the finals will take place on 28th May 2022 at Gazprom Arena.

UEFA Europa League
The league kicked off on 5th August and will come to an end on 18th May 2022. The league has undergone considerable changes that have led to the reduction of the teams. Initially, in the group stages, there were 48 teams, but now there are only 32. It means that there will only be eight groups of four, where winners will automatically proceed to the round of 16. The matches will take place on Thursdays at 18:45 and 21:00 CET. The only match that will not take place on a Thursday will be the grand finale.
