Dhawan Charitable work

India has been experiencing the second wave of COVID -19, which has affected millions. However, celebrities such as Shikhar Dhawan are doing anything they can to help. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Dhawan has been doing charity work. 

This year, Gurugram Police tweeted a photograph of oxygen concentrators that Dhawan gave awaiting donation. In addition, he was also the face of the Delhi Capitals in their Plasma donation drive. The drive is to urge the people that have recovered from covid 19 to donate plasma to help the severely ill.

In a tweet, Shikhar Dhawan said he is committed to help India fight COVID-19. He also added that every Rupee contributed will be doubled by the donor for the noble cause. In addition, Shikhar has also partnered with a non-governmental organization named “People for Animals.” It is the biggest animal Welfare organization that protects, rescues, and rehabilitates sick and needy animals. He expressed his joy of being associated with the cause and the NGO as well.


Shikhar Dhawan has had a controversy in the field. It happened in the 2015 World Cup in the quarter-finals between India and Bangladesh. India was fielding, and Shikhar Dhawan took a superb catch to dismiss Mahmudullah. 

The replay showed that he was throwing the ball back as his eight pushed him over the ropes before completing the catch. However, the Tv replay displayed that his left foot somehow had touched the boundary line. 

Besides Cricket, he has also recently stirred controversy when he visited Varanasi. He posted on Instagram feeding the birds during an outbreak of the avian flu, and it didn’t go well. It has resulted in a heated debate that has seen the District Magistrate say that he will take action against the boatsman for not following protocol.
