IPL Rivalries are Revived: The five Plays You Should Watch

The Indian Premier League has resumed in the United Arab Emirates after it was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic in India. Soon after the IPL ends, the T20Is will kick off immediately. However, as you enjoy the thrill of the IPL, some players will catch your eye and keep you glued to the matches. These players have a way with the white ball, making the games more fun.

1. Virat Kohli

Virat is the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the best player the team has. As the Indian Premier League progresses, he has a lot to prove to his team and fans. Virat has a lot to do for the team, especially after his team is so determined to win the IPL 2021 trophy for the first time. However, Kohli had decided to relinquish his captaincy after the T20I World Cup. This decision was not received well by many.

Virat has never won any major titles in all the Indian Premier League tournaments he has played with India. All his records are average, with 198 runs from just seven matches. The talented players remain to be the captains of India’s test and the One Day international teams.

2. Eoin Morgan

The Kolkata Knight Riders‘ captain has proven himself to be a worthy leader. However, he has a challenging task to try and lift his team through to the IPL 2021 playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders are the seventh team out of the eight teams to participate in the Indian Premier League. The left-hander batter has only managed to win twice by only 98 runs in the seven outings.

Morgan is an exciting player to watch during the IPL 2021 due to his excellent white-ball skills. He is one of the only two overseas captains left in the IPL; his counterpart is Kane Williamson from New Zealand.

3. Rashid Khan

Coming in at position three is the 22-year old spin wizard. He did a perfect job during the Hundred tournament in England, where he rattled the opposing batsmen. He is one of the most important players that Sunrisers Hyderabad hopes to push to the top of the IPL table. In his fourth season with his team, he has taken 85 wickets in 69 Indian Premier League matches.

4. Imran Tahir

Playing for Chennai Super Kings, Tahir is the oldest player registered in the Indian Premier League. The South African spinner is 42 years old, yet he has the central role for the Super Kings. Imran is fun to watch as he stands out among other players. He has a trademark headband and a flowing mane of hair. His character is mesmerizing and feisty. With the IPL 2021 schedule and the remaining games, he is determined to prove to his country that they made a mistake by leaving him out of the T20 World Cup squad.

5. Esprit Bumrah

Last but not least is India’s ‘yoker king’ playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. His tactics are distinct, which put him in the spotlight as the extraordinary talent of John Wright. Bumrah has taken 115 wickets in 99 matches playing for the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians. His team aims for the third IPL winner title, making him a fascinating figure to watch out for in the match.
