Cricket South Africa (CSA) has released the full India vs South Africa schedule in the home season. The home season 2021-2022 extends into the first few months of 2022. The home board has also released the full itinerary for their home team. The fixture between India and South Africa ranges from December 2021 to January 2022.
India will play a three-test match series in Johannesburg. The first test match is scheduled for the 17th of December. The Boxing Day test match will be held in Centurion, Gauteng. The dates for the Boxing Day test match is December 26-30. The third and final test match of Ind vs SA series will be conducted in Johannesburg from January 3 to 7.
India was scheduled to play against South Africa in a T20I series in September 2021. But the series was delayed due to the rescheduling of the Indian Premier League, starting from September 19. The last time India and South Africa met in a bilateral series was in India in 2020. But the two nations never got to finish the season due to the COVID -19 pandemic.
The Ind vs SA series will be India’s first overseas tour since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021, which will be played in UAE from October 17 to November 14.
After the three test matches, India and South Africa will play in three ODIs. The dates for the ODIs are January 11 to 16. Then the two teams will play the last format of Ind vs SA series, T20Is, from January 19 to 25.
The home season for South Africa will be played from November 2021 to April 2022. The series will feature SA playing against Netherlands and Bangladesh and a limited-overs series for women featuring West Indies.
“This is perhaps the busiest summer we’ve ever had at home. In these difficult times, it is fantastic that such high-quality cricket will be performed on our shores,” said CSA Director of Cricket Graeme Smith in a release.
“This encompasses India’s complete tour to Bangladesh in all three forms, including red – and – white-ball cricket, as well as the Netherlands international team’s maiden visit to the nation.
“The ODI series against Bangladesh and the Netherlands is a part of the Cricket World Cup Super League. The Test Series against Bangladesh and India are a part of the World Test Championship. These provide our international home fixtures more context,” Smith said.
