Career Information

Test Debut:

Hardik made his Test debut on July 26, 2017, against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium. He scored his maiden Test century and 26 runs. 

He was not included in India’s 20-man main squad for the 2021 Test series. However, it’s suspected that due to his inability to bowl in the longer format, this might be the end of his Test career. 

ODI Debut:

On October 16, 2016, Hardik Pandya made his ODI debut against New Zealand at Dharamsala. He scored 31 runs and caught 3 wickets at an economy rate of 4.42. India beat New Zealand by 6 wickets with 101 balls remaining. 

His last ODI match was on July 23, 2021, against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Sri Lanka beat India by 3 wickets with 48 balls remaining. 

T20 Debut:

Hardik made his T20 debut on January 26, 2016, against Australia at Adelaide Oval. He slammed eight sixes during his unbeaten 86 and 2 wickets innings and led the Baroda cricket team to a six-wicket win. 

The last Test series Pandya played was July 25, 2021, against Sri Lanka at Colombo. India won the match by 38 runs.

Hardik Pandya made his T20 debut on March 17, 2013, against Mumbai in Ahmedabad. His last T20 series was on July 25, 2021, Sri Lanka versus India at Colombo. 

IPL Debut:

Hardik made his IPL debut on April 19, 2015, against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He registered 21 runs off 8 balls and 3 wickets, which helped the Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 6. 

He is in the IPL 2021 playing for Mumbai Indians together with his brother Krunal Pandya. 


  • In July 2017, he set the record for becoming the first Indian batsman to score a Test Century just before lunch. Additionally, he scored the most runs in a single over of a Test innings for India, recording 26 runs. 
  • He is the fourth Indian to be named player of the match on his ODI debut. 
  • He was the ODI XI of the year 2017 by Cricinfo. 
  • Hardik was named man of the match in 2015 after making his IPL debut. 


While training for the Test series against England in late 2016, Pandya injured himself at the PCA Stadium. As a result, he didn’t take part in this series. 

Hardik Pandya underwent a shoulder injury in September 2019 and missed playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Hardik and Krunal Pandya lost their father on January 16, 2021, due to a cardiac arrest. 


The Board of Control for Cricket suspended Hardik from pending inquiries after he and KL Rahul shared their view about sexual encounters on a celebrity guest show “Koffee with Karan.” Luckily the suspension was later lifted, and they both rejoined the Indian team in New Zealand.
