St. Kitts and Nevis Team Retention for Ninth Season – CPL 2021

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots is a cricket franchise based in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The franchise first debuted in the league in 2015. The Patriots have their home ground at Warner Park, Basseterre, where all the matches of CPL 2021 will be played. St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots retention players comprises mostly West Indian players, just like the other franchises in the league.

The Patriots have declared their St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots retention list for the CPL 2021. The league will be starting from August 28 and played till September 19 in the home ground of St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

The Patriots have retained seven players from their 2020 CPL team and recruited two new players by trading their team members. Dwayne Bravo and Sherfane are the two new players in the Team. The trade-in from Trinbango Knight Riders in exchange for Dwayne Bravo and the trade-in from Guyana Amazon Warriors led to Cherfane Rutherford.

Some of the notable St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad 2021 are opener Evin Lewis, the all-rounder, Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell and the veteran Rayad Emrit. Young prospect Jashua Da Silva, who debuted in the CPL in 2020, has made it to the retentions as the franchise was impressed with his performance in the eighth season. The off-spinner, Jon Russ Jaggesar and another young prospect have been retained for CPL 2021 too. The left-handed batsman and pacer Dominic Drakes is also the son of former West Indies cricket player Vasbert Drakes.

The owner of the Patriots, Mahesh Ramani, said, “St Kitts and Nevis Franchise wishes a hearty welcome to the new entrants joining us this year, as well as to our returning core team, for another thrilling Hero CPL season. This year is especially memorable since we’ll be performing at Warner Park, where we grew up. I’d like to express my gratitude to all of our team members, support personnel, and management, as well as our worldwide fan base, for their unwavering love and support. I am looking forward to a fantastic season in 2021.”

The Premier League in 2020 was not in SKNP’s favour. But now, with new faces being recruited into the squad and having the advantage of playing in their home ground, the franchise seems to have a good chance at winning the ninth season.

Evin Lewis, Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell, Rayad Emrit, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Dominic Drakes, Jashua Da Silva, Sherfane Rutherford, Dwayne Bravo
