The England cricket squad travelled to India during February and March 2021 to play four Test Matches. The Tests formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. The full itinerary was released, with three venues hosting the entire tour.
England won the first Test by 227 runs, and India won the second Test by 317 runs. The third Test, a day/night fixture, was completed within two days, with India winning by ten wickets. The loss meant that England could no longer qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. India won the fourth and final Test by an innings and 25 runs, taking the series 3–1.
Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, was awarded Player of the Game for his excellent innings with the bat. His brilliant stroke of 101 out of 118 deliveries turned the tables of the Indian team. The left-handed batsman played exceptionally well with caution against the bowling attack from James Anderson, Ben Stokes, and Jack Leach. The talented batsman took the visitors by surprise after he hit thirteen boundaries and a couple of sixes in his innings.
R Ashwin was named Player of the Series in Ind vs Eng Test Series 2021. The Tamil Nadu spinner proved his mettle once again and showed us why he was highly rated in international cricket. He played well with both bat and ball and proved his all-around prowess in the test series. Ashwin picked up 32 wickets and three five-wicket hauls and scored a match-winning century in the second innings of the Second Test at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
