The 2021 season of the Lanka Premier League will begin on 30th July 2021. But currently, the league has been irked by the sudden declaration of the KPL or Kashmir Premier League. LPL is facing franchise termination, and the existence of KPL has shocked both the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and LPL.
Kashmir Premier League or KPL is scheduled to begin from 16th August 2021. The league will undoubtedly feature some Pakistani legends and some overseas stars from England and Sri Lanka. On the other hand, some of the cricketers from Sri Lanka and England are also a part of the Lanka Premier League.
The inaugural edition of KPL carries the blessings of the Pakistan Cricket Board along with the Pakistani Government. There will be six teams: Rawalakot Hawks, Bagh Stallions, Overseas Warriors, Muzaffarabad Tigers, Kotli Lions, and Mirpur Royals. Some star players who will participate in the league are Monty Panesar, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Shoaib Malik, and Mohammad Hafeez.
The LPL or Lanka Premier League 2021 will be hosting its 2nd edition of the tournament. The competition will begin from 30th July 2021 to 22nd August 2021. But these are the dates that are pretty much clashing with the Kashmir Premier League, and LPL is not entirely happy about it.
The Vice President of SLC, Ravi Wickramaratne, has declared that the sudden announcement of the KPL league has raised a lot of questions. He also added that the Lankan board would be forced to decide on the LPL 2021 edition. They think about whether it can be hosted with or without the Pakistani players who are also assigned to take part in KPL.
Even though Pakistan Cricket Board has not made any announcement yet regarding their decision on KPL, things are looking pretty ricky for the Lankan Premier League. PCB has declared that everyone should wait patiently until and unless a decision is being made.Get more updates for sports news and IPL matches live status follow Pure Win News.
