Ravi Shastri To Step Down As The Coach Of Team India After T20 World Cup

Team India will probably enter into a new era of cricket with some significant changes in the coaching department. According to current reports, coach Ravi Shastri will bid farewell to the Indian cricket team after the T20 world cup. Shastri has already communicated his decision to the top BCCI officials. 

Why Shastri Wants To Step Down As The Coach?

Ravi Shastri, team India coach, is all set to retire from his position after the T20 World Cup. The reason behind this might be the BCCI setting the upper limit of the head coach to 60 years. Shastri, who is 59, will only have one year to lead the men in blue. So, both BCCI and the head coach are ready to explore new options. BCCI is looking for new options. 

When And How The Board Will Advertise The New Position?

The Board will take in new applications after the World Cup in UAE. The Board has a special committee that will take the responsibility of appointing the team India new coach. The Board will interview shortlisted candidates, and the new coach will be selected. 


Ravi Shastri has done a superb job in bringing out the best potential of the youngsters. The rise of Rishabh Pant under the coaching of Ravi Shastri has not gone unnoticed. Rahul Dravid has been one of the most preferred options for the position of head coach. But according to sports news, Dravid hasn’t thought about leading the time permanently.
