RCB slid into the playoffs after winning its match against Punjab Kings. Delhi Capitals stand at the top of the points table. The team is at the top of its game in all terms and seems to have secured its place in the finals.

In the last match against Punjab, Kings scored 164/7, which is the highest score at Sharjah in 2021. Glenn Maxwell was the top scorer for RCB with 57 runs off 33 balls. It was his third consecutive half-century. Furthermore, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli both scored comfortable runs. The team’s score accelerated with Devdutt attacking the spinners; he welcomed Arshdeep Singh with a six and four past the point. He also bagged a few fours to Ravi Bishnoi after KL Rahul failed to get his catch

Virat Kohli did not play at his best; however, he did enjoy some luck with Rahul missing the stump-off. Delhi Capitals lost their first stand for a while, but they are back to the first position after defeating Chennai Super Kings in the last match. Shikhar Dhawan had been leading the innings, but he fell at 39 runs in a double-wicket delivery from Shardul Thakur. After that, came Hetmyer who came in full attack form and gave two fours in the first over he played. Furthermore, he smacked a much-needed six for Josh Hazlewood’s bowl.

It was Kagiso Rabada’s chance to show his form, and he sealed the win with a fine four in the final over. Hetmyer lucked out when he was put down by K Gowtham at the long-on. This was a crucial point in the match, and the Capitals needed 22 off 16. With Ashwin opening, a good thing was Hetymer was kept at the back. He and Axar knocked singles around early on to take the team closer to the target. At the beginning of the over, the Capitals required 28 runs off 18 balls, and their partnership for two fours in a 12-run over proved to be detrimental.
